NGK Standard spark plugs are approved and recommended by OE for reliable performance for most automotive and non-automotive applications.
They feature a 5-Rib insulator design to prevent flashover and are also treated with corrosion-resistant plating to ensure ease of installation and removal.
The NGK BP5HS spark plug, 14 x 1/2" reach threads, projected tip, 13/16" socket is a projected tip spark plug, suitable for 1/2" Reach VW engines.
These fire cleaner and are a lot less likely to foul than the antiquated "regular" plug tip design.
For a stock VW engine, using this modern plug will provide smoother running and more power.
This plug is the correct heat range for stock and mild engines in Type 1s and 3s, being the stock heat range.
(This is equivalent to a Bosch "8")
